Summary: "great product for a great price"
Amazing product...great price. It has most functions needed. Only con is configuring the watch takes quite a while since you need to memorize a lot of things or keep the manual handy! If you lose the manual, you are done unless you have memorized it...which is actually sad. At least the analog part of adjustment should've been made possible with a screw or whatever instead of buttons for 'everything'.

Summary: "Watch review"
I bought two of these watches and are going to return. First of all the instruction book was micro fine and I had to have greatly enlaged to view. Secondly I've yet to enter the basic time/date functions in either. The buttom system, etc., etc. is crazy. The light is next to worthless (whereas my older Casio was great and simple to program). I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone.............

Summary: "half-decent watch for telling time, but that's it (and only when it's not dark)"
i was looking for a watch that gave me a clear reading of the day/date/time, regardless of the light. i was also interested in the timer function (useful for things i do at work in the laboratory). while it's not a bad looking watch, and is light and comfortable for my small wrist (thus 2 stars and not 1), functionally it has some design flaws.
the biggest issue i have is that the minute/hour hands will interfere with your ability to see the digital display. this happens for about 15-20 minutes of every hour (imagine the minute hand in front of the LCD). then there's the whole 5 o'clock to 7 o'clock period when the hour hand is constantly in front of the LCD. a big problem if you're interested in the information presented on the LCD (i.e., everything but the time).
i think i saw this mentioned in other reviews, but the light is pretty weak. it's certainly no indiglo. if you want a watch that you can read in the dark, opt for an indiglo watch.
other issues include: kind of a pain in the neck to set the analog time (there's no traditional knob; you have to use the buttons to move through the time); figuring out how to set the time and timer and everything else is not intuitive and actually requires the manual (unlike timex watches which are very easy and even give you onscreen instructions); the numbers on the digital display are small and not so easy to read.

Summary: "Plastic casing breaks"
I purchased this watch in September of 2009. Nine months later the plastic casing broke, making the velcro strap lose its point of connection. I'm not engaged in the kind of activity that it tough on a watch, so the breakage appears to me to be a problem with the material used in its construction.

Summary: "Decent watch, but . . ."
Pros:
* Appearance - the best-looking (to my tastes) combination analog and digital watch I've seen. Sized well for a small arm; case is a little thick but not too wide. Easy to read in light (see Cons about the night light).
* Buttons - easy to access, and they don't protrude from the case like Timex's do. There's not even a crown.
* Comfort - Lightweight, wears very well.
* Functions - Alarm is loud and easy to hear. Two alarms are a plus, but the screwy "snooze alarm" is definitely a con. It also has all those other functions, but I only use the timer.
* Accuracy - spot on after 48 hours, rated to +/- 30 seconds a month.
Cons:
* Setting the hands - they only go forward, not back. If it's set ahead, like mine was when I got it, you have to hold down two buttons simultaneous then watch the hands spin around until you stop them, then goose them to the right setting.
* Night light - OK if the hands are illuminated, but useless otherwise. Only illuminates sides of face.
* Velcro strap - I never have had good luck with them, they always fray or stain, so I replaced it with a water-resistant leather strap that looks great on it.
* Snooze alarm - This is just goofy. If you set it, the fool thing sounds every five minutes until you deactivate it.
* Alarm programming - Timex is way ahead of Casio on this. My old Timex digital had three alarms with weekday/weekend/daily/off options. Casio's are time only.
